  3. Explain and apply principles and practices for effectively assessing second language and culture learning.
  4. Locate, review, and evaluate published research in the field.
  5. Design second language research studies, collect and analyze data, and report the findings.
  6. Make use of appropriate technologies and media for second language and culture teaching and research.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge of the target language as a system.
